Dorothy R. Grant is the owner of Spatafore & Grant and directs the legal strategy in the firm’s cases. She became a Certified Workers’ Compensation Law Specialist in 2026.

Dorothy earned her bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of California, San Diego. Before becoming an attorney, she spent many years in business leadership and operations, experience that continues to shape her practical, organized approach to managing complex cases and communicating with clients.

After returning to San Luis Obispo, Dorothy graduated from the San Luis Obispo College of Law in 2019 and was admitted to the California Bar in 2020. Her practice focuses exclusively on representing injured workers, including matters involving medical treatment, disability benefits, medical-legal evaluations, settlement, hearings, and complex permanent disability issues.

Dorothy believes clients deserve clear explanations, honest advice, and a realistic understanding of their options. She works closely with the firm’s experienced staff to provide personal, responsive representation throughout the workers’ compensation process.

When she is not working, Dorothy enjoys spending time with her husband and daughters, traveling, and exploring California’s Central Coast.
